B2B: Preparations & Marriage Procedures

I have mentioned in my previous post-April that I will share the B2B preparation. Alright, today I will share steps for all B2B. *Please be advised that the procedures maybe vary by states*. I'm staying in Selangor & my address in MyKad also in Selangor. Therefore I followed Selangor's application procedure, while my husband staying in Sabah, so he followed Sabah's.
Here you go:
  • Pre-Wedding Course.  I attended the course in Sandakan, Sabah because my husband wanted me & him attending it together. (But then we were separated into two classes).
  • My husband to obtain the marriage application form at Sandakan Religious Office. NOTE: You may obtain it at the counter of Religious Affairs Department of Sabah (JHEAINS) Headquarters or the nearest District Religious Office.
  • HIV testing. Selangorian must undergo the test in Government Health Clinic only. I went to Klinik Kesihatan Kelana Jaya (KKKJ). I chose KKKJ because firstly, it near to my office area. Secondly, no need to make appointment. Thirdly, I will receive the result on the same day. However, it took almost 4 hours for me to get the result! The medical assistant only returned me the blue colored-carbon-copy. Another thing, it was quite sad because everyone came with partner, only me came alone *sad face here*.
  • As for my husband, he went to Klinik Kesihatan nearby his house area. It was quick because there were only us at that time. Oh ya, he had me accompany him. The medical assistant then wrote the HIV result & straight away stamped/endorsed his marriage application from. After that, we went to Kinabatangan Hospital to take Talasemia Test (this test is not compulsory but I insisted to take).

    Done! Negative for Talasemia :-D
  • Ok, now time for him to complete his application form. I must wait for him to has the permission to marry been granted before I can submit mine.
  • My husband submitted the application form to JHEAINS-Sandakan District. After approved, he posted the approved documents to me. *He posted using POS EXPRESS; it took 3 working days to reach me here in Selangor.
  • Once received the documents, I went to Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) in Shah Alam to submit my application. I brought my father (who would be my "wali") & also two witnesses along to JAIS. Please be advised that we must have the groom-to-be's approved application with us when we want to submit ours.
  • After settled with the documents verification & endorsement from the Religious Officer, I met the "kadi" who will marry us to book the date, 23.02.2013. No objection even though the date was within a week :-)
  • After settled everything, went back home & time to prepare the solemnization ceremony next week!

      1. The medical assistant won't state the HIV result but will write "has been exam". The result is sensitive...
